TECKpert seeks to hire a Network Architect to support our client, a government agency based in Tallahassee, FL. This role will design, implement, and maintain hybrid network infrastructure—ensuring secure, high-speed connectivity between on-premises and Azure environments—and drive technical strategy and execution for cloud migrations, disaster recovery planning, and ongoing network optimization.
Job Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To:- Architect and deploy network designs for on-premises and Azure environments that meet business requirements
- Configure and optimize routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, ExpressRoute circuits, and VPN gateways
- Migrate virtual machines, file shares, and applications from on-premise datacenters to Azure, validating data integrity and permissions
- Establish and monitor secure, high-speed cloud–on-prem connectivity (ExpressRoute, VNet peering)
- Implement network virtualization (VLANs, VXLANs) and integrate SAN/NAS storage solutions
- Develop and test disaster recovery plans, defining RPO/RTO objectives and backup strategies
- Use Azure Monitor to set alerts, analyze capacity trends, and tune performance for optimal resource utilization
- Troubleshoot complex network issues, create resolution scripts, and implement preventive measures
- Document technical designs, network diagrams, runbooks, and operational procedures
- Lead technical reviews, mentor junior engineers, and present solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 7 years of IT experience in Microsoft Azure environments
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience delivering cloud infrastructure projects
- Minimum 2 years of experience migrating and optimizing systems in Azure
- Proven expertise in network architecture, planning, and optimization (hardware and software)
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, SAN/NAS, and network security principles
- Hands-on experience with Azure networking components: Virtual Networks, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateways, NSGs, ASGs, Azure Firewall, and DDoS Protection
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex concepts clearly
- Preferred: Microsoft Certified – Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, or Azure Security Engineer Associate
