Description of Task to be Performed:
AnaVation is seeking a senior-level Azure Engineer with an active Secret clearance. This a newly-awarded contract, so the selected candidate must be a self-starter who is eager to quickly integrate with a high-performing team responsible for accrediting and implementing a new digital evidence platform for our Federal Government client. This is a full-time position that can be performed remotely with occasional travel to Washington DC as needed.
What you will be doing
- Design, build, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure leveraging IaC tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
- Architect and implement automated deployment pipelines integrating IaC frameworks with CI/CD platforms (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.).
- Develop and enforce cloud governance, security, and compliance standards across Azure environments.
- Lead high‑complexity cloud infrastructure projects, driving best practices in automation, monitoring, resilience, and cost optimization.

- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to evaluate technical requirements and design solutions aligned with enterprise architecture.
- Troubleshoot and resolve advanced Azure infrastructure issues involving networking, identity, compute, storage, and Kubernetes (AKS).
- Mentor junior and mid-level cloud engineers; provide technical leadership and thought guidance on IaC and cloud modernization.
- Maintain documentation for deployments, architectures, patterns, and operational processes.
- Stay current on Azure platform advancements and advocate for tools or practices that enhance reliability, performance, or engineering efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology
- Five (5) years of hands-on experience designing and managing cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
- Clearance:
- Public Trust; US Citizenship is required
- Other Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Advanced experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM.
- Strong proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, Git version control, and automated deployment workflows.
- Deep understanding of Azure services across networking, security, compute, storage, and containers (AKS).
- Expertise in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
- Experience implementing cloud governance frameworks, identity architectures (Azure AD), RBAC, policies, and security baselines.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to analyze complex distributed systems.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort collaborating with diverse technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Azure certifications (AZ-305, AZ-104, AZ-400, or equivalent).
- Experience with platform engineering and building reusable infrastructure modules.
- Familiarity cloud cost optimization strategies.

Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
