As an Azure Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure. You will play a critical role in optimizing and scaling our cloud-based environments, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. Your expertise in cloud automation, resource provisioning, and troubleshooting will help maintain the reliability and efficiency of our Azure cloud ecosystem. You will also have opportunities to learn and support modern AI toolset like Databricks.
Key Responsibilities
- Cloud Infrastructure Management:
- Provision, configure, and manage Azure resources (e.g., Virtual Machines, Networking and Routing, Azure Kubernetes Service, App Services, Azure Functions, Storage Accounts, Virtual Networks).
- Perform regular system monitoring, Up-Time and Connectivity, Monitoring tests, backups, and maintenance of Azure infrastructure.
- Security & Compliance:
- Ensure cloud solutions adhere to security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), network security, and data protection.
- Implement and manage security policies and monitor compliance within the Azure environment.
- Troubleshooting & Support:
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner, ensuring minimal downtime and impact on services.
- Provide support for deployment pipelines, monitoring systems, and cloud-related incidents.
- Cost Management:
- Monitor and optimize Azure cloud costs by identifying inefficiencies, right-sizing resources, and implementing cost-saving measures.
- Collaboration & Documentation:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (developers, operations, security) to implement cloud-based solutions.
- Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for cloud infrastructure, processes, and incident responses.
- Automation & Scripting:
- Automate cloud infrastructure provisioning using tools like ARM templates, Terraform, or Azure DevOps.
- Write and maintain PowerShell, Python, or other scripts to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Cloud Architecture & Design:
- Collaborate with Architecture team to help design and implement scalable, reliable, and cost-effective solutions using Microsoft Azure services.
- Collaborate with teams to define cloud infrastructure needs and create architecture plans to meet business requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator Associate.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud technologies (e.g., Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Networking, Azure Active Directory, Azure Storage).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and/or ARM templates.
- Strong knowledge of cloud security principles, including network security, identity management, and encryption.
- Proficiency in one of the scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or similar tools.
- Familiarity with Azure monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex cloud concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Self-motivated with a proactive mindset and a desire to continuously learn new technologies.
- Strong attention to detail and focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
