The Azure Analytics Services Engineer/Architect is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and overseeing robust data solutions within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, including Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Microsoft Fabric. This role collaborates closely with stakeholders to gather business and data requirements, architect scalable and secure data platforms, and ensure solutions are optimized for performance, reliability, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data architectures, pipelines, and ETL/ELT processes using Azure Databricks, Synapse Analytics, and Microsoft Fabric.
- Implement and optimize data storage solutions (e.g., Data Lake, Lakehouse, Warehouses) to support enterprise analytics and reporting.
- Ensure adherence to data governance, security standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data workflows for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate advanced analytics, AI/ML models, and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Translate business requirements into effective technical solutions and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
- Stay current with emerging Azure data technologies and best practices, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience as a Data Engineer or Architect, with a strong track record of designing and implementing data solutions using Azure Databricks, Synapse Analytics, and/or Microsoft Fabric.
- Proficient in SQL, T-SQL, DAX, Python, or other relevant programming languages for data transformation, modeling, and automation.
- Solid understanding of data integration strategies, ETL/ELT techniques, and data warehousing principles.
- Skilled in data modeling, schema design, and performance optimization.
- Knowledgeable in data security best practices, governance frameworks, and compliance standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred: Familiarity with Power BI, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Purview, and CI/CD practices for data solutions. Relevant Microsoft certifications are an advantage.
