This role focuses on enhancing and securing a cloud-native platform by embedding secure-by-default practices and spearheading automation across engineering teams. The successful candidate will contribute to a culture of security, collaborating cross-functionally to enhance tooling, support incident response, and influence the adoption of DevSecOps best practices. It’s a dynamic, high-change environment, where development and security go hand in hand to enable safe and proficient delivery.
Required skills:
- Robust technical background with experience in scripting or automation (e.g., Python, Bash)
- Proven track record in DevOps or engineering roles, with expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform)
- Knowledge of incident response processes, vulnerability management and incident triage
- Experience implementing security controls and maintaining security tools
- Awareness with agile methodologies in dynamic environments
- Calm, evidence-based decision-maker in high-pressure situations
- Innovative, with a focus on functional, cost-effective solutions
- Committed to continuous learning and improvement in Information Security
Key responsibilities & duties include:
- Deliver security engineering projects that automate and enhance security processes
- Maintain and improve existing security tools (e.g. CNAPP)
- Collaborate with product teams to design and implement secure-by-default patterns
- Advise engineering teams on cloud security and DevSecOps best practices
- Work closely with the customer's SOC to monitor and respond to security incidents
- Assist teams with prioritisation and remediation of security issues
- Build integrations to monitor, track and report on security programme performance
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call incident response rota (after probation)
