Officer position responsible for achieving the defined profitability and production goals for an assigned geographic area (Denver) within the West territory across a defined business unit, working closely with the business unit peers and underwriters whose products are transacted in the assigned area within the territory.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:

  • Engages with and works for the overall Territory Leader and collaborates with Business Unit resources relative to any local offices that nationally represented brokers have in their region.
  • Collaborates with distribution superiors to ensure annual production and profitability plans are met.
  • Responsible for executing on the alignment between all CNA business units' target appetites and the books of business of agents/brokers in their geographic region to achieve goals and maximize profitable growth opportunities.
  • The role assists with generating prospects for assigned territory to match the business's core strategic appetite as defined by management to that of the agents/brokers in their territory.
  • Accountable for creating and maintaining new business relationships with key agents and brokers in assigned territory.
  • The position must have an adept understanding of the company's short and midterm business appetite and how that aligns with the business of agents/brokers in the territory. Digests company defined strategy and is evaluated on achievement of preset goals.
  • Understands the portfolios, expertise and servicing needs of agents/brokers in the region to maximize the flow of prospects towards CNA and to ensure all agents and brokers domiciled in the territory meet their production and profitability of annual plans for all lines of business.
  • Regular reporting and monitoring of key performance indicators required to ensure achievement of annuals profitability goals.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
1. Advanced knowledge of in their discipline, professional field or formal body of knowledge and expert understanding of the critical issues in related areas pertaining to insurance distribution.
2. Expert communication skills which are critical to building consensus across area of influence (external and/or internal relationships), team, matrix and/or hybrid environment.
3. Leadership and management skills demonstrating integrity and professionalism.
4. Proven ability to drive sales results by identifying and resolving significant problems within scope of responsibility.
5. Advanced level knowledge of the insurance industry, its products, and services.
6. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.
7. Advanced sales and negotiating skills with proven experience managing a large book of business.
Education & Experience
1. Bachelor's degree with Master's preferred in a related discipline, or equivalent.
2. Typically a minimum of 10 years of related underwriting, sales, marketing and distribution management experience.
3. Applicable professional certifications preferred.

I n certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. In District of Columbia , California, Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland , New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $143,000 to $228,000 annually.Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
