Purpose of the role

To lead the development and execution of the bank's Data & Analytics strategy, aligned with the bank's overall business goals and risk appetite, ensuring data is used effectively to drive business growth, optimise operations, and mitigate risks.  

Accountabilities

  • Enablement of Business or Function Unit Strategy through fostering and embedding a comprehensive understanding of how data can be used, bringing thought leadership on best practices and new capabilities to deliver Business outcomes.   .
  • Adherence to data policies standards and controls and inform this over time, driving Data Quality in support of use cases.
  • Partnership with the Business or Function leadership to lead the definition and prioritisation of data use cases, business data products and their implementation and realisation of benefit.
  • Prioritisation of activity required for Data and Analytics and challenge the overall end to end design and architecture.

  • To advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. Collaborate closely with other functions/ business divisions.
  • Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function. Set objectives and coach employees in pursuit of those objectives, appraisal of performance relative to objectives and determination of reward outcomes

  • OR for an individual contributor, they will lead collaborative assignments and guide team members through structured assignments, identify the need for the inclusion of other areas of specialisation to complete assignments. They will identify new directions for assignments and/ or projects, identifying a combination of cross functional methodologies or practices to meet required outcomes.
  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information. 'Complex' information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as experience with data design compliance with best practices, governance, and security policies, data profiling and analysis and data design specifications as well as job-specific skillsets.

To be successful as an AVP - Solution Architect, you should have experience with:

Basic/ Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience of working on complex end to end designs as a solution architect

  • Experience in working in Data architecture and Governance, including Barclays Data portal (BDP) setup for CDE’s and mapping Data lineage for medium complex Applications.

  • Experience in complex systems integration with sound knowledge of integration and implementation issues and their architectural implications and Cloud hosting

  • Excellent understanding of best practice architectural and design methods with proven innovative and leading-edge thinking

  • Understanding / knowledge of the full stack Development Tech, especially with frontend development frameworks

  • Experience of working with various stakeholders to influence their thinking about what is possible through technology innovation.

Desirable skillsets/ good to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Data Science, or related field.

  • Experience of mobile and internet customer services, ideally in Financial Services

  • Ability to exhibit deep technical understanding conveyed through crisp solution design walkthroughs.

  • Experience working with the cloud Architecture and design cloud solutions.

  • Application / Infrastructure / Enterprise Architect training and certification.

This role will be based out of Pune.
