The position offers a competitive compensation package including base salary, performance bonus, equity consideration, excellent medical, and retirement plans.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific responsibilities include:
- Record journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Own the monthly and annual close for assigned entities, delivering accurate balance sheets and income statements on a defined timeline.
- Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules for accuracy, completeness, and conformity with GAAP and entity-specific reporting requirements.
- Prepare and submit annual filings including business personal property tax returns and Form 1099 reporting.
- Communicate entity financial results, open items, and issues to management and clients clearly and proactively.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts (cash, investments, receivables, payables, accruals), and investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Record capital calls, distributions, and valuation changes for alternative investments.
- Perform annual K-1 reconciliations for client alternative investments, and coordinate with fund administrators and tax preparers on discrepancies and late or amended K-1s.
- Process and review invoices.
- Review payment requests for accuracy before authorizing their release.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through periodic financial review meetings and responsive handling of ad hoc requests.
- Maintain working relationships with tax advisors, outside accountants, and other third-party providers.
- Provide organized schedules and support to outside tax professionals and external accountants and respond to their follow-up requests.
- Support audits, reviews, and regulatory inquiries as needed.
- Maintain accurate intercompany balances, reconcile them across entities, and support consolidations.
- Prepare and update budgets and budget-to-actual analyses, with clear variance commentary for management and clients.
DESIRED EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from a four-year college or university.
- CPA preferred but not required
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a family office, trust company, public accounting, or investment/partnership environment.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP; experience with partnership or trust accounting is a plus.
- Familiarity with alternative investments (private equity, hedge funds, real estate), capital activity, and K-1 reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to work with others including some management and training experience.
- Individual must be a self-starter with the ability to exercise independent professional judgment with minimal supervision.
- Superior organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to rapidly changing assignments and priorities and to work in a multi-tasking environment needed to perform job successfully.
- The capability to manage and prioritize complex projects with sometimes conflicting deadlines.
- Ability to exercise critical thinking when analyzing data.
- Must have excellent computer skills with knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office including advanced Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience using QuickBooks Online; familiarity with Bill.com, Yardi, and Addepar is a plus.

COMPENSATION
A competitive base salary, performance bonus, and benefit plans including medical, dental, vision, life, long term disability, and 401(k) with company match.
Base salary range: $100,000 - $130,000.
