The Assistant Vice President (AVP) Sales Administration is a strategic leadership role responsible for the alignment, optimization, and execution of North America sales administration and training. This position ensures seamless integration between corporate strategy and field operations, focusing on operational excellence, compliance, revenue enablement, and talent development. The AVP partners cross-functionally with sales, marketing, legal, compliance, HR, finance, IT and field leadership to drive revenue growth, compliance and sales force development
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Administration Strategy & Operations
- Lead the overall vision, strategy, and day-to-day operations of sales administration, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Oversee insurance partnership management and regulatory compliance related to agent licensing and location permitting.
- Direct the development and continuous improvement of sales policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- Guide design, implementation, and monitoring of sales performance analytics and dashboards.
- Lead systems integration and sales data governance in coordination with IT and Data teams.
- Manage end-to-end sales incentive, commission, and discount processes, including board volume reporting and exception management.
- Partner with Compensation and Finance teams to develop, analyze, and implement competitive and compliant sales compensation plans.
Sales Training & Enablement
- Own the strategy and execution of national onboarding programs for sales associates, both virtually and in-field.
- Develop and maintain core training curriculum, ongoing learning pathways, and field coaching programs.
- Ensure the development and continuous improvement of sales scripts, presentations, and collateral.
- Lead efforts to design leadership development programs tailored to front-line and mid-level sales leaders.
- Oversee content and version control of all sales enablement materials and tools.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Serve as a strategic partner to field leadership, providing advisory support and responding to evolving salesforce needs.
- Develop KPIs and reporting frameworks to measure functional success and support data-driven decisions.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
MINIMUM Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Administration, Sales Management, or related field.
- Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in operations, administration, or a related discipline, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
- Experience in the funeral, cemetery, insurance, or other regulated service industries preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multi-departmental projects.
- Strong financial acumen, particularly budget management.
- Deep understanding of insurance compliance, licensing, and regulatory frameworks.
- Expertise in change management and scaling operations in complex environments.
- Exceptional communication, analytical, and project management skills.
- Must be able to manage sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion
- Proficiency in Salesforce, Mindtickle, and learning management systems (LMS) preferred.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies preferred.
- Experience managing remote or hybrid team preferred.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and technology implementations preferred.
