Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our data migration initiatives. In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive data modernization roadmaps that align with our business objectives and drive innovation across our data ecosystems and end-to-end data flows. This strategic role involves overseeing the transformation of legacy data systems into modern, scalable, and efficient infrastructures that support advanced data analytics and business intelligence capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Spearhead the development and execution of strategic data modernization roadmaps tailored to organizational objectives, ensuring alignment with evolving data ecosystems and end-to-end data flows.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration, leading teams through the execution of data modernization initiatives, guaranteeing adherence to project milestones and goals.
• Identify and mitigate risks while capitalizing on opportunities across multiple projects, fostering a proactive approach to navigating complex data modernization landscapes.
• Optimize resource allocation and foster cross-project collaboration by adeptly managing program and project teams, enhancing efficiency and synergy.
• Ensure fiscal responsibility by meticulously developing and managing project budgets, holding teams accountable for delivering against established business objectives.
• Offer senior-level guidance, leveraging extensive expertise in data management disciplines to provide invaluable policy, strategic, and operational insights.
• Champion stakeholder engagement, navigating complex issues inherent to data modernization efforts, and ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
• Guarantee adherence to data regulations and standards, spearheading compliance efforts and other relevant mandates.
• Prioritize high-impact initiatives across data management, engineering, science, and analytics, crafting and executing comprehensive data modernization roadmaps aligned with strategic objectives.
• Enhance data quality, accessibility, security, and scalability by conducting thorough assessments of current data ecosystems, platforms, and processes.
• Collaborate with business units and IT to define target modern data architecture and operating models, ensuring alignment with evolving data requirements and use cases.
• Oversee seamless migration to modern cloud-based data platforms, facilitating the consolidation of legacy systems and warehouses for enhanced efficiency and agility.
• Uphold enterprise data governance standards, ensuring data integrity, security, and regulatory compliance through rigorous enforcement of data lineage and master data management practices.
• Foster innovation and efficiency through the implementation of DataOps and data product management principles, streamlining data delivery via automated pipelines and self-service platforms.
• Build and nurture a high-performing data modernization team equipped with the necessary skills, tools, and processes to drive success.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership role within data management or IT, with a proven track record of successful data modernization, ideally within sizable corporate environments.
• Extensive knowledge of modern data architectures, data integration, and data warehousing solutions.
• Lead large-scale, intricate data transformation programs with precision, leveraging expertise in data architectures, cloud platforms, governance, and product management, honed through years of hands-on practice.
• Possess a keen business sense, adept at aligning data initiatives with overarching organizational goals and priorities.
• Translate technical capabilities into strategic business advantages, deliver tangible value through the development and execution of effective data strategies.
• Apply knowledge of Agile, DevOps, and DataOps methodologies and tools to optimize data operations and workflows.
• Exhibit exceptional leadership qualities, capable of motivating and guiding diverse teams towards common objectives.
• Communicate effectively and manage stakeholders proficiently across all levels of the organization.
• Foster high-performing data organizations and technical teams through effective leadership and mentorship.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a diverse team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with cross-functional teams and executive management.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and understanding of data governance frameworks.
