Fox Robotics is at the bleeding edge of warehouse automation, with a focus on autonomous forklifts. As the leader in this space, Fox has clear product market fit and is scaling fast, with plans to rapidly grow from 100 employees to nearly ~160+ this year alone. With this growth, employees have a once-in-a-career opportunity to learn, all while working as part of a mission-driven team focused on making robots that work.
Your primary mission is to rigorously test the FoxBot product, with a specific focus on autonomy. This is a significant opportunity to have an impact from day 1.
What you’ll do:
- Collaborate with the autonomy team to verify system capabilities against product requirements and performance benchmarks.
- Identify, design, and execute both real and simulated test suites.
- Automate simulation test execution and reporting.
- Communicate findings to stakeholders across the company.
- Burn down reported issues from the field, analyze logs and identify root causes.
- Investigate, debug, and troubleshoot issues related to product performance.
- Work with cross-functional engineering teams to establish permanent corrective actions across hardware and software.
- Understand autonomy software changes and proactively design tests and update simulation tools to properly evaluate the changes.
- Use simulation tools to predict product performance across a variety of operating environments.
- Work with cross-functional teams of engineers, developers, and project managers to ensure that testing, integration, and overall development goals are met on time and to the highest standards.
- Ability to travel and solve hard problems at customer locations.
What you’ll need:
- Demonstrated ability to test complex systems
- Experience with general purpose programming environments, languages and scripting systems, Linux, git
- BS / MS in computer science, robotics, engineering or equivalent work experience
- Fluent in C++ and Python
- Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing
- Clear communication skills
- History of taking personal ownership of complex problem solving
Nice to have:
- Startup experience at companies that are scaling fast; an ability to build the robot as they ship it, as we say
- Robotics autonomy experience a plus
- Familiarity with robotics or embedded systems
- Knowledge of software quality and testing principles
- Knowledge of any Test management tool like Jama, Jira with Zephyr
- Experience with functional testing, regression testing, performance testing, and stress testing
- Experience with modern test tooling such as:
- Cloud web services like databases, compute orchestration, etc.
- Analytics platforms like Tableau
- Data visualization tools like Foxglove
- Ability to navigate a large codebase and Bazel build system
Benefits and perks:
- A once in a career opportunity to build, alongside colleagues who deeply care (plus robots that aren’t bad, either!)
- Competitive salary and stock options
- Generous healthcare options
- 401k match
- Unlimited PTO
- Other perks that connect us, including lunch on Fridays, team building activities, and more!
We envision a world where robots serve as a human multiplier for dull and dangerous work. The warehousing industry sees more than 52,000 cases of injuries every year in the US. Our first product is an automated trailer unloader (forklift) that quickly demonstrates measurable value to our customers by both improving efficiency while also increasing safety.
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

What We Do
Fox Robotics enables end-end warehouse autonomy by providing intelligent and reliable autonomous pallet handling solutions for the shipping and receiving dock— catalyzing global supply chain transformation and enhancing resiliency, cost efficiency, damage rates, safety, and quality of life for our customers.
Why Work With Us
Our robotic forklifts are human multipliers: They make it possible for people to do more with less while also creating safer and more efficient working conditions. Doing more with less is how we future-proof supply chain workflows, grow our economy, and provide higher-paying jobs. The future can be great—if we build the right tools.
