Role Summary

The Autonomous Vehicle Integration Engineer (Mechanical) is responsible for ensuring that mechanical designs are suitable for manufacturing, assembly, and vehicle integration. The role bridges engineering and production by validating mechanical designs, preparing production documentation, coordinating with fabricators, and supporting prototype builds through production.

Working closely with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain and Procurement teams, the engineer resolves manufacturing and assembly issues, conducts root cause analysis, coordinates the sourcing of mechanical components, and supports suppliers to ensure the reliable and efficient deployment of autonomous vehicle systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve manufacturing and assembly issues by conducting root cause analysis to determine whether defects originate from product design, fabrication, supplier quality, or assembly processes.

  • Prepare and maintain production documentation, including fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), work instructions, and engineering change documentation.

  • Support prototype builds, production, and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) by verifying mechanical fitment, assembly quality, and system integration.

  • Coordinate with fabricators, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve manufacturing and assembly issues, implementing corrective actions where necessary.

  • Support the sourcing, qualification, and validation of mechanical components in collaboration with the Supply Chain and Procurement teams.

  • Design inspection tools and alignment fixtures for vendor workmanship quality checks and field servicing.

  • Provide hands-on training and technical support to manufacturing partners and field service teams.

Requirements:

  • Diploma, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

  • Relevant engineering experience, internships, or academic projects involving mechanical retrofit, product integration.

  • Proficient in interpreting mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and bills of materials (BOMs).

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) for reviewing mechanical designs and assemblies.

  • Strong technical documentation and communication skills, with

  • Willingness to travel outside Singapore to support suppliers, production activities, or field deployments.

Bonus Points:

  • Familiarity with mechanical tolerancing, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.

  • Experience in automotive or mobility projects involving mechanical retrofit, manufacturing, or product integration.

  • Preparing production documentation, work instructions, and engineering reports.

  • Experience working with suppliers, fabricators, or contract manufacturers is an advantage.

Salary is commensurate with experience. We also offer world-class benefits, fantastic culture, flexible working arrangements, and a great international working environment. Come and join us!

Skills Required

  • BEng or MEng in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering
  • 2-5 years of hands-on experience in system integration, production support, or testing of electro-mechanical systems
  • Proficient in actuator systems, wiring harness design, mechanical assemblies, and basic electronics/control hardware
  • Skilled in executing system-level tests, diagnostics, and root cause analysis
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) for mechanical design and review
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and apply mechanical tolerancing practices
  • Strong communication skills with experience creating technical documentation
  • Willingness to travel outside Singapore for production support or field deployment
  • Experience with basic PCB design and debugging
  • Familiarity with sensor types (encoders, limit switches, TOF) and integration best practices
  • Exposure to DfMA methodologies or lean manufacturing principles
  • Understanding of electro-mechanical component sourcing and supply chain risk management
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams with software and electrical engineers
