Job Title: Automation & SCADA Specialist

Job Summary:
The Automation & SCADA Specialist at GlobaLogix, Inc. will provide technical leadership in the engineering, design, and implementation of complex PLC/HMI and SCADA systems. This role involves extensive client interaction to understand and meet their needs through consultant sales and technical expertise, without holding project management responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the technical leader on projects, guiding design and implementation of PLC/HMI and SCADA systems.
- Read and interpret complex technical documentation such as P&IDs, ladder logic, function block diagrams, schematics, loop sheets, and manuals.
- Conduct process simulations to validate and optimize system performance.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to define technical standards and ensure project deliverables align with client specifications.
- Develop and maintain client relationships, assessing their needs and consulting to define and implement effective solutions.
- Deliver technical presentations to clients, effectively communicating complex system designs and benefits.
- Manage the creation and maintenance of detailed technical documentation and system designs.
- Oversee the procurement of hardware and software, ensuring compatibility and adherence to project budgets.
- Provide commissioning and start-up services, including hardware and software system troubleshooting and training for client teams on commissioned systems.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Proven experience with PLC/HMI and SCADA systems across various platforms such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, Modicon, and SCADAPack.
- Demonstrated expertise in technical documentation and systems engineering within a client-focused environment.
- Proficiency in programming and network architecture.
- Experience with designing and commissioning control systems for ground water, surface water, and wastewater utility systems, highly desireable.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Controls, or Systems Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology. Master’s degree preferred.
- At least 5 years of technical leadership experience in control systems engineering.
- Strong sales engineering skills, with a history of developing effective client relationships and technical proposals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
