X-Sight is an early stage hardware startup in Boston, MA building new x-ray computed tomography (CT) imaging scanners that are faster, smaller, and higher performance than anything today. Our mission is to accelerate manufacturing by 10x and save 100,000s lives with fast, accessible medical screening. We are building the full system from custom semiconductor devices, x-ray sources, manufacturing tools, electronics, to the final imaging scanners. Founded by MIT EECS PhD graduates and faculty. Role
You will build custom manufacturing tools and x-ray hardware from ground up alongside the founders. You will design, document, assemble, and program vacuum manufacturing tools and robotics. You will also contribute to designing and fabricating custom x-ray imaging hardware. You will work closely with X-Sight’s founders and veteran industry advisors.
Skills and Qualifications
- Degree in an engineering discipline, preference to mechanical, electrical, and/or robotics engineering.
- At least 1-2 years experience building automated mechanical systems including machine controls, microcontrollers, robotics, and mechatronics.
- Strong programming skills, strong experience in python. Experience in embedded rust is excellent.
- Proficiency with CAD (SolidWorks or equivalent)
- Hands-on experience in machine shop fabrication and prototyping (such as 3D printers, CNC, lathe, etc.).
- Clear technical writing and documentation.
Location
On-site in Boston, MA. This is a hands-on hardware role. We are unable to sponsor a visa for this position.
