Are you prepared to revolutionize intralogistics processes across all ROCKWOOL factories worldwide? Our mission is to redefine material flow, minimize manpower involved in the movement and storage of semi-finished and finished products, and advance digitalization throughout our factories.
 

Your Future Team:

You will become part of GTC S (Cold end Software). We are a diverse team of 11 and in different locations. We represent 6 different nationalities across 3 locations, mainly in Denmark and Poland. The Department have expertise in mechanical, electrical, automation, software and process engineering as well as project management.
 

What you will be doing:  

Join our team as an Automation Engineer where you'll spearhead our mission to optimize and automate the flow of our semi-finished and finished products. We are improving our factories by integrating a WCS (Warehouse Control System), based on the SW TrakSYS platform.

You will be a vital contributor throughout various project phases, from conceptual studies to design, testing, commissioning and providing engineering support.

Your responsibilities will include a diverse array of tasks working with technologies such as automatic storage and retrieval systems, autonomous mobile robots, automated guided vehicles, utilization of identification and labelling technologies, truck loading and unloading solutions. Additionally, you will actively participate in large-scale logistical projects on a global scale, with a primary focus on Europe, Asia, and North America. In this job you are expected to:

  • Take ownership of the automation scope for our intralogistics technologies.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and support software systems and utilize your proficiency in PLC, SCADA and control systems.
  • Lead the entire lifecycle of one of our intralogistics technologies, from designing, testing (FAT), installation, commissioning (SAT), and to ensure full documentation.
  • Communicate with suppliers and follow up to secure compliance with specific design needs and our company automation design guidelines & standards.
  • Participate in budgeting and the development of tender material for suppliers.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their specific needs and requirements, providing technical expertise and support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with other colleagues such as IT, mechanical and electrical to ensure seamless integration with overall system functionality.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in intralogistics technology, continuously enhancing your skills and knowledge base.
  • Participate in making the department an inspiring and rewarding place to work by sharing knowledge, support your colleagues in their professional growth and participate in developing and executing department strategies.

Although your new desk will be located in the Nowy Rynek building in central Poznań, Poland, you will often travel primarily in Europe but could also be around North America and Asia – mostly to meet with colleagues and suppliers and to supervise the implementation of your projects. You can expect to travel 60-80 days per year, with trips varying from just a couple of days to a few weeks at a time. Know, however, that you will rarely be alone.

Furthermore, you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of proven PLC programming experience. Advance if within intralogistics solutions for the industry.
  • Experience with Siemens Simatic Manager.
  • Experience with Siemens TIA.
  • Experience with Siemens WinCC version 7.5.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong collaborative spirit, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Have the ability to reach out and equivalent of driving the task.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication skills, and you are fluent in English.
