About the Role
We are currently recruiting an Automation Engineer for our Factory site in Santa Iria de Azoia!
The primary mission of this role is to lead the Automation Department within the production area, with a strong emphasis on optimizing production processes and driving operational efficiency.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading and managing the Automation Department to ensure seamless integration of automation in production.
- Designing, developing, testing, and commissioning automation projects to improve process efficiency and reliability.
- Continuously modifying, upgrading, and enhancing existing equipment to meet production goals and standards.
- Providing expert support to the maintenance team in troubleshooting and resolving complex automation-related issues.
- Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving faults in electrical systems to minimize downtime and improve productivity.
- Interpreting, creating, and modifying electrical circuits, diagrams, and schematics with precision and accuracy.
- Thoroughly understanding and interpreting technical documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
What do we expect from you?
You hold a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Automation Engineering or Electronical Engineering (a Master's degree is preferred). Experience on the shop floor is highly valued. You possess strong knowledge of PLC programming and are proficient in programming languages such as FBD, Ladder, and IL. Expertise with Siemens tools, including TIA Portal and Simatic S7, is required, and experience with Schneider's Control Expert is an asset. You have a solid understanding of HMI programming (Siemens, Schneider, Proface) and are familiar with SCADA systems like WinCC and Citec. Additionally, you have knowledge of industrial communication networks such as Profinet, Profibus, and Modbus TCP/IP, as well as experience with equipment utilizing the ASI protocol. Familiarity with vision systems, SEW, Siemens, and other inverter programming systems is highly regarded. Expertise in ABB and Fanuc robots, along with experience in developing electrical schematics, is beneficial. You are proficient in Microsoft Office tools, have knowledge of SQL databases, and are familiar with instrument calibration procedures, as well as electromechanical and pneumatic systems. Fluency in English is valued, while Portuguese is mandatory.
