Responsibilities / Tasks
1. General Role PurposeSupport implementation of automation engineering for projects from contract signature through completion.
Deliver projects on time, on quality, and within budget while ensuring high customer satisfaction.
Handle 2–8 projects per year.
Follow established project methodologies and ensure compliance throughout execution.
Expected travel and commissioning: ~45%.
Projects mainly in SEA, with possible extension into APAC.
Work primarily within a project team, coordinated with Lead/Senior Engineers and other project engineers.
Ensure automation engineering compliance with: Customer specifications Functional analysis GEA norms Automation standards
Develop and maintain functional analyses.
Produce engineering documentation following GEA procedures.
Liaise with external suppliers for material procurement.
Supervise electrical panel assembly and FAT.
Execute IO tests, including basic electrical measurements and system checks.
Continuously evaluate safety during commissioning.
Comply with regulatory and GEA safety requirements at all times.
Contribute to improvements in: Project productivity Tools, methods, and engineering innovation Automation and/or electrical domain enhancements
Promote skills and ideas sharing across teams.
Report regularly on automation and site assembly task progress to the Automation Project Leader.
Your Profile / Qualifications
Education
- Master’s degree in Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge.
- Expertise in automation, control systems, pneumatics, and industrial electricity.
- Hands-on experience with:
- PLC Programming: Siemens, Schneider, Rockwell
- HMI Programming: Siemens, Schneider, Wonderware, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Ignition
- Familiarity with industry standards such as S88, S95, and S101.
- Sound understanding of hygienic design principles and QHSE standards in industrial environments.
- High level of technical awareness across integrated engineering systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Critical thinking and structured problem-solving ability.
- High level of professional ethics, compliance awareness, and integrity.
- Stress tolerance and ability to perform under pressure.
- Results-oriented mindset with strong accountability.
- Autonomous working style with proactive decision-making.
