The Role
Develop, troubleshoot, maintain, and validate electro-mechanical automated test equipment for aerospace products. Responsibilities include translating test procedures into equipment requirements, selecting hardware, programming test software, documenting and releasing software, analyzing test data, supporting root-cause corrective actions, training operators, and estimating future projects. The role is onsite in Tempe, Arizona and requires electrical drawing interpretation, electronic equipment troubleshooting, and at least five years of relevant engineering or integration and test lab experience.

As an Automated Test Equipment (ATE) Engineer within Control Systems, you will support development, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electro-mechanical test solutions for a variety of aerospace products including actuators, valves, air turbine starters, and more!

You will report to the Test Engineering Manager, and work out of our Tempe, AZ site on an onsite work schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test procedure review and translation to test equipment requirements 
  • Test equipment hardware selection 
  • Test equipment software programming
  • Validation and verification of integrated solution
  • Software documentation creation and release
  • Supporting root cause and corrective action of test unit and/or test equipment
  • Test data analysis, presentation, and incorporation of lessons learned
  • Training operators on test equipment
  • Quoting/estimation of future projects
Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in technical disciplines such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
  • 5+ years experience in an electrical engineering and/or integration & test lab environment.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings and troubleshoot electronic equipment.

WE VALUE

  • Software design experience with National Instruments TestStand, VeriStand, LabVIEW, FlexLogger, DiAdem, Dewesoft ladder logic, Python, MATLAB/Simulink
  • Experience with software configuration control practices (i.e., GIT/SVN/BitBucket)
  • Equipment and cable harness design in AutoCAD Electrical
  • Experience selecting and/or operating equipment including AC/DC power supplies, cRIO/PXIE chassis and associated modules, DAQs, motors/drivers, solenoids, PLCs, relays, FPGAs, load boxes, etc.
  • Use of lab instrumentation including DMMs, scopes, and standard tooling
  • Proven track record developing test equipment hardware and software
  • Knowledge of ESD practices and general lab safety
