CLA is currently seeking an Audit Director in our National Assurance Group to support our Private Industries (Real Estate, Retail, Healthcare, and/or International) practice. The ideal candidate will have extensive audit technical review experience working with FASB reporters. This individual should demonstrate a deep understanding of the operations and standards unique to these entities, including proficiency in complex debt and equity transactions, business combinations, going concern considerations, and/or restatements. This role reports directly to the Managing Principal of Service and can be located in any state.
How you’ll create opportunities in this role:
· Interact and collaborate with others across all levels of the Firm and on oc casion with clients
· Perform the quality control review of assurance engagements
· Analyze observations and findings, perform root cause analysis, and proactively collaborate to develop process improvements
· Be a technical resource for engagement teams assisting in research and consultation for the application of professional standards and generally accepted accounting principles,
· Assist in development and maintenance of assurance methodology and practice aids for implementation of new standards and related learning,
· Develop thought leadership for internal and external users
Qualifications for this role:
· Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
· 6 years of experience in a public accounting environment or equivalent
· CPA or equivalent
· Supervisory experience driving strategic management required.
· Current on professional standards, FASB, GAAS
· Superior verbal and written communication skills
· Solid analytical and decision-making skills
· Ability to communicate complex concepts to engagement teams and clients
· Ability to use various assurance research tools effectively
· Ability to collaborate effectively on technical accounting and assurance topics
· Location is flexible
