Gunderson Dettmer has an opening in our Silicon Valley office for a full-time Attorney Workflow & Development Assistant to support the Senior Attorney Development Manager and other members of the Attorney Development team in all attorney development initiatives and related programs.

The ideal candidate for this role is a self-starter who takes initiative and can work independently, but also thrives in a collaborative team environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Track and manage all Attorney Development department expenses, ensuring accurate recordkeeping and timely reporting.

  • Maintain and distribute weekly hours reports for designated practice groups.

  • Compile and distribute weekly attorney out-of-office reports to keep relevant stakeholders informed of attorney availability.

  • Maintain department calendar and schedule Attorney Development programming.

  • Handle coordination for firm training programs (e.g., sending calendar invites, Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit requests, conference room reservations, program reminders, and presenter CLE information once approved, and distribute program materials.

  • Manage post-program administration needs, including editing, trimming,  and uploading program recordings to the Firm's Learning Management System (LMS) and Wiki pages.

  • Update programming spreadsheet for tracking purposes and save program materials to iManage and Wiki pages.

  • Create and distribute links to Learning Paths in the LMS to firm attorneys.

  • Administer and manage attorney surveys (e.g., the 30-day and 90-day integration surveys for new attorneys), track responses and ensure the timely distribution of data.

  • Helps prepare and distribute Attorney Development newsletters on a regular basis, ensuring content is current and relevant.

  • Collaborate with Attorney Development team and other departments across the Firm on special department or Firm projects as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Exhibits strong interpersonal, organization and communication (both oral and written) skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Displays strong technology skills including Word, Excel & PowerPoint.

  • Exhibits sound judgment, the ability to foster an inclusive work environment and maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.

Preferred Experience

  • At least one year of experience in an administrative or professional support role, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.

  • Experience with learning management systems, video recording platforms (e.g., Vimeo), and Smartsheet applications, and document management platforms such as iManage.

  • Experience with viGlobal modules.

Status

  • Full Time, Non-Exempt.

  • Hybrid

The annualized base salary range for this position is expected to be $65,000.00 - $75,000.00. While this range reflects the minimum and maximum value for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations, the offer for the successful candidate for this position will be based on job related capabilities, applicable experience, and other factors such as work location. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only and do not include bonus, benefits, or related incentives for which this position is eligible.
