Job Description:
Performing work including, but not limited to providing legal advice and direction related to NDVA programs, including grants, risk management, State Claims, and procurement and contract-related programs. This includes development, administration and audit functions for grants, engagement with insurance and State Claims cases and submissions, and support of procurement related legal functions. Assisting with research, drafting and review of correspondence and other legal documents. The position will be responsible for ensuring compliance and consistency regarding the complex bodies of law handled by the agency legal team.
Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Three years of experience as an attorney practicing law and providing legal services such as preparing and trying cases, advising clients, and/or interpreting laws or administrative policies.
Legal Requirements: In accordance with Section 7-101, Nebraska Revised, Reissued Statutes of l943, incumbents in this class must be admitted to the Nebraska Bar.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with grants, procurement and related programs.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated ability to interpret State and Federal laws and regulations and effectively communicate issue and concerns as well as potential solutions to leadership and team members. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build and maintain positive professional relationships. Demonstrated ability to organize information and excellent written and oral communication skills. Flexibility to assist with legal matters as determined by the Agency Legal Counsel.
