We are seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate Consultant Attending Physician to provide specialized gender-affirming healthcare services. The ideal candidate will have experience in transgender health, hormone management, and gender-affirming procedures. This role involves working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to transgender and gender-diverse patients.
As a consultant, you will be available for consultations and discussions with our advanced practice clinicians (APCs) regarding their more challenging cases. The position requires no more than 15-20 hours per month, allowing you to utilize your extensive experience to benefit our patient population.
Essential Duties
- Be available at scheduled times to our APCs, providing consultation remotely.
- Assist in modification of treatment modalities on a case-by-case basis
- Maintains timely & accurate patient records electronically
- Adheres to policies and protocols set forth by the organization
- Monitors patient progress and help determine if transfers are needed
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Valid medical license to practice in New Jersey
- Board certification or eligibility in relevant specialty (e.g., Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Psychiatry).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proven experience in providing gender-affirming healthcare services (at least 2-3 years attending physician experience providing gender affirming health therapy (GAHT) to the transgender & gender non-conforming communities).
- Knowledge of current standards, guidelines, and best practices in transgender health.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to culturally competent, inclusive, and patient-centered care.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to comply with regulatory policies, documentation standards and ethical principles surrounding our organization
- Comfortable with providing consultation remotely
- Additional training or certification in transgender health or related fields, a plus
- Experience with gender-affirming surgical procedures.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms, electronic health records, and conferencing software such as TEAMS and ZOOM.
