Assurance Manager, Private Company

As an Assurance Manager, you'll oversee multiple engagements from planning through completion. You'll partner closely with engagement partners to align on expectations and make sure deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met every time. You'll also build lasting client relationships and develop the seniors and staff who will become the practice's next leaders.

Engagement Management and Delivery

• Take full responsibility for planning, supervising, and completing multiple audit engagements at the same time.
• Monitor engagement budgets, manage workflow, and deliver on time and efficiently under tight deadlines.
• Review workpapers and financial statements for accuracy, compliance, and adherence to professional standards.
• Find ways to improve audit processes and make engagements more efficient.

Client Experience

• Build a strong understanding of each client's operations, industry dynamics, and business objectives.
• Engage with clients regularly to understand their emerging needs, concerns, and strategic priorities.
• Spot opportunities to introduce additional services or new solutions that add value to the relationship.
• Support partners in expanding relationships within existing client accounts.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop audit seniors and staff, and build a collaborative team where people grow.
• Delegate effectively while staying accountable for engagement quality and deadlines.
• Give ongoing coaching and real-time feedback that builds technical skills and supports career progression.
• Contribute to internal initiatives focused on innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 4–6+ years of progressive audit experience in public accounting.
• Currently performing at the Manager level.
• Active CPA license (required).
• Experience leading audit engagements in one or more private company industries: manufacturing, automotive, distribution, real estate and construction, healthcare, or professional services.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and auditing standards.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet demanding deadlines.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and client service skills.
• Proven ability to build strong relationships inside and outside the firm.

Preferred Experience

• Background at a national or regional public accounting firm with a strong private company practice.
• Deep industry specialization in one or more of the sectors above.
• Experience with review and compilation engagements, employee benefit plan audits, or other attest services alongside audits.
• A track record of mentoring staff and contributing to practice growth or business development.
