- Plan, organize, and supervise day-to-day mining operations.
- Ensure achievement of monthly and annual production targets.
- Monitor drilling, blasting, excavation, loading, and transportation activities.
- Optimize mine productivity and equipment utilization.
- Ensure compliance with the Mines Act, DGMS regulations, MMR, and other statutory requirements.
- Implement and monitor safety management systems and safe work practices.
- Conduct safety inspections, audits, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
- Investigate accidents/incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Lead and manage mine engineers, supervisors, operators, and contractual manpower.
- Develop workforce capability through training and skill enhancement initiatives.
- Ensure effective deployment of manpower and equipment.
- Coordinate with mine planning and geology teams for short-term and long-term mine plans.
- Monitor mine development activities and ensure adherence to approved mining plans.
- Support exploration and reserve estimation activities.
- Manage mining contractors and ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
- Monitor contractor performance related to productivity, safety, and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and mine closure requirements.
- Drive initiatives related to green mining, dust suppression, and sustainability.
- Maintain statutory records, reports, and documentation.
- Prepare MIS reports on production, productivity, safety, and equipment performance.
- Liaise with government authorities, DGMS officials, and other regulatory bodies.

- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mining Engineering from a recognized institute.
- First Class Mines Manager Certificate of Competency (Restricted/Unrestricted) issued under DGMS regulations.
- 8-15 years of experience in open-cast mining operations.
- Experience in limestone mines will be preferred.
- Proven exposure to drilling, blasting, mine planning, fleet management, and statutory compliance.
Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mining Engineering from a recognized institute
- First Class Mines Manager Certificate of Competency, restricted or unrestricted, issued under DGMS regulations
- 8–15 years of experience in open-cast mining operations
- Experience with drilling, blasting, mine planning, fleet management, and statutory compliance
- Experience in limestone mines
- Knowledge of mine operations management, DGMS compliance, safety management systems, contractor management, budgeting, and cost control
- Proficiency with MS Office and mining software
