Position Summary

The Associate Wealth Advisory Trader is responsible for applying the financial advisors’ guidance at the client level, and for translating investment strategy changes into specific client accounts. The Trader may also monitor economic data and trends, making recommendations to the investment advisors, and providing regular reports on both individual portfolio performance and fund performance results. The Trader may participate in or develop an investment strategy and may have client relationship management responsibility.

Required Experience and Education

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, or related field, or equivalent work experience with 0-2 years of experience in financial services, including research and analysis of investment vehicles and portfolios. Progress toward or willingness to obtain Series 7 and Series 66 licenses within a specified time range required.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in managing client portfolios consistent with the firm’s investment strategy guidelines, under the supervision of the Chief Investment Officer
  • Manage, evaluate, monitor, and make rebalancing decisions on portfolios on an ongoing basis, to ensure successful portfolio performance
  • Execute securities transactions in a timely and efficient manner consistent with the firm’s best execution policies
  • Prepare and maintain documentation necessary for trades and transactions, maintaining data integrity and ensuring data accuracy and completeness
  • Participate in Investment Committee meetings to gain exposure to market insights, firm strategy, and to give recommendations
  • Collaborates with advisors and leaders to ensure client portfolios are properly aligned with firm objectives
  • Understand compliance issues and work collaboratively with leadership to adhere to all compliance requirements including maintaining data integrity and verify compliance, as needed, and monitoring industry issues and trends
  • Follow compliance procedures and maintain regulatory and internal documentation standards
  • May participate in the development of the investment strategy
  • Provide support for client communications and internal discussions
  • May research, analyze, and recommend investments, and demonstrate an acceptable track record in investment selection consistent with needs and goals
