About the Role
As Associate Technical Designer, you will generate and implement basic programs, and oversee product technical specifications for Kohl’s Proprietary Brands.
What You’ll Do
Develop accurate technical specifications aligned with Kohl’s Brand ID and minimum construction standards
Perform benchmarking, remain informed on market trends and review competition to provide strategic recommendations
Establish industry knowledge through continuous learning in fit, mass production and supplier relationships
Facilitate communication and collaboration between internal and external partners to achieve product fit and development solutions
Prepare for sample reviews by organizing sample evaluations, scheduling review time and communicating with cross-functional teammates
Conclude analysis and feedback of sample evaluation into a detailed summary of actionable sample corrections for Vendor through clear written communication, sketches, photos and other media
Stay informed about customer feedback to ensure products consistently meet expectations and identify any potential concerns
Additional tasks may be assigned
What Skills You Have
Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Manufacturing or a related field
2+ years of experience in Technical Design, Fashion Design, Pattern Making, Manufacturing, or related industry
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred
Experience using PLM and Adobe Illustrator or similar specification packages and sketching programs
Knowledge of textiles, construction and pattern-making/grading

Ability to use a personal computer for tasks such as communicating, preparing reports, etc.
Ability to plan, prioritize and monitor activities across business units
Ability to complete or oversee the completion of assigned projects in a timely manner
