About the Associate for Strategic Communications
Manhattan Strategies is seeking an Associate for Strategic Communications. This is a full-time, on-site role. The best-fit candidate is a highly motivated public relations and social media strategist, who is skilled in assisting on multiple projects at one time while working with a fast-paced team of designers and communicators.
Responsibilities:
- Content Creation: Assist in drafting press releases, blog posts, social media content and email campaigns.
- Media Relations: Build and maintain media lists, monitor press coverage, draft media briefs and assist with outreach to journalists and influencers.
- Research and Analysis: Conduct research on industry trends, competitive landscapes and target audiences to inform campaigns and strategies.
- Project Support: Collaborate with team members on marketing and communication projects, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Social Media Management: Schedule posts, engage with audiences and track performance across various platforms.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Track campaign performance and provide regular updates and insights using analytics tools.
- Client Interaction: Participate in client meetings and presentations to gain experience and provide support as needed.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of strategic communications/public relations experience
- Background in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field; agency or consultancy experience a plus
- Strong writing and editing skills with ability to produce clear, concise, and engaging content across channels
- Demonstrated ability to support client projects, manage deadlines, and coordinate with team members
- Skilled at research, media monitoring, and reporting to help inform strategy and measure impact
- Familiarity with communications tools (media databases, social scheduling platforms, analytics dashboards, etc.); curiosity about emerging digital and AI-driven platforms
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field required
Benefits & Compensation:
- Base salary range is $50,000 to $62,000 per year
- Benefits include bonus eligibility and 401(k) with company match
