Role: Associate Solution Architect - Software Development
Experience Level: 8+ years with 3+ years of lead engineer/architect experience
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada (Hybrid)
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and evolution of scalable, high-performance software architectures (React focus) and enforce best practices and architectural standards
Act as a React SME, driving component design, state management, routing, performance optimization, and building reusable UI components
Design and develop secure, scalable backend services using Python, Flask, and FastAPI; implement RESTful/GraphQL APIs and optimize performance and data integration
Identify opportunities for AI integration, develop MLOps frameworks, and collaborate with ML teams to embed models into applications
Manage and optimize relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and provide guidance on database strategies.
Deploy and manage applications on GCP (GKE, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, etc.) and design secure, scalable, cost-effective cloud solutions
Apply data structures and algorithms for efficient, optimized, and high-performance solutions.
Mentor and guide development teams, fostering innovation, technical excellence, and high-quality code standards
Required Skills & Qualifications:
10+ years of progressive experience in software development, with at least 3+ years in an Architect or Lead Engineer role
Expert-level proficiency in React.js and its ecosystem (Hooks, Context API, Redux/Zustand, React Router, etc.)
Strong command of Python with extensive experience in building web applications using Flask and/or FastAPI
Deep understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) including advanced SQL, schema design, and performance tuning
Extensive hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including deploying and managing applications, databases, and serverless functions
Excellent grasp of Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) and their practical application in software design
Solid understanding of software design patterns, object-oriented programming (OOP), and functional programming concepts
Experience with microservices architecture, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures
Proficiency with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong understanding of testing methodologies (unit, integration, end-to-end) and test automation
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with other frontend frameworks (e.g., Angular, Vue.js) is a plus
Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with serverless architectures (e.g., Cloud Functions, Lambda)
Knowledge of data streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Pub/Sub)
Contributions to open-source projects
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
