The Associate Solution Architect will be responsible for providing technical leadership and full-stack development of CFRA’s next generation of web applications using a modern technology stack: React and Python on AWS cloud infrastructure. This is a rare opportunity to make a big impact on both the team and the organization by being part of the initial design and development of a new customer-facing application framework that will serve as the foundation for all future web development at CFRA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop high-quality, high-performance, scalable applications using best practices and the latest generation of technologies
  • Provide technical leadership to multiple teams throughout the project lifecycle
  • Provide recommendations and roadmaps for proposed solutions
  • Perform design, debug, and performance analysis on solutions
  • Document and sharing best practice knowledge for new solutions
  • Review and validate solution designs from other team members
  • Mentor and work skilled teams while shaping the future of our products
  • Produce technical design documents and conduct technical walkthroughs
  • Document and demonstrate solutions using technical design docs, diagrams, and stubbed code
  • Follow Agile best practices effectively and actively participate in all scrum ceremonies
  • Respond to and resolve production issues
  • Be part of a culture of continuous learning and improvement of both the team and codebase

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • A minimum of 12+ years of full stack development experience on enterprise web applications
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience leading a development team
  • Proficient in frontend development using React/Typescript
  • Proficient in backend development using Python or an object-oriented language
  • Fluency in the AWS infrastructure for delivering web applications: API Gateway, Lambda, Cognito, CloudFront, S3
  • Proficient in SQL and developing solutions using relational databases such as MySQL.
  • Experience using object-oriented design principles and building backend applications with REST APIs
  • Experience with Terraform or other infrastructure as code technologies
  • Experience with Git and continuous integration environments
  • Experience with code pipelines such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or AWS CodePipline
  • Experience with frontend and backend unit testing methodologies
  • Proficient with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies like Agile
  • CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation with hands-on experience in financial equity research is a strong plus, providing domain expertise in financial statement analysis, valuation, and investment research that translates directly into more informed design of CFRA's research and analytics platforms
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills are essential, with strong verbal and writing proficiencies
  • Ability to train and mentor
  • Great organizational and time-management skills, including an ability to estimate project completion times
  • Ability to take complex technical concepts and communicate to non-technical audience
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering is required
