Associate - Economics and Data

Location: Mireka Tower, Havelock City, Colombo 5. On site.

Successful applicants will be invited to join a series of cognitive, workstyle, and language assessments and interviews. Following these sessions, offers will be made for analysts to start as soon as practical.

Responsibilities

• Conduct analysis on topics including labor markets, demographics, income trends, and market sizing, with a clear link to decision-making.
• Contribute to the design and logic of statistical models built on real-world data - help define what the models should measure, how they should work, and interpret results
• Write analyses that make technical results understandable to non-technical audiences with a focus on practical recommendations.
• Work through ambiguity by taking open-ended questions, breaking them down, and answering them with evidence.
• Collaborate with other analysts and domain experts to build grounded, data-driven insights.
• Manage multiple tasks and timelines effectively in a fast-paced environment

• 2 - 3 years of experience working in economics and with datasets.

• Bachelor's degree in economics, finance,  data science, or a related field.
• Firm grasp of both theory and applied methods.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong skills in data analysis and the ability to interpret results in context.
• Strong instincts for ensuring data integrity and identifying inconsistencies in data and outputs.
• Curious, methodical, and outcome-oriented, with strong initiative.
• Experience working with statistical models will be a plus.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• A strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
