Position Purpose:
This role is a full-time, exempt position at the Associate/Senior Associate level, responsible for advancing projects in multiple regions. This role requires an analytical and detailed self-starter to manage internal resources and teams of consultants, as well as supporting the needs of more senior developers. The successful individual will use initiative to progress complex projects and assist in the achievement of development milestones, from greenfield prospecting and acquisition to construction-ready status in support of Key Capture Energy's objectives. This position requires travel to project locations to meet landowners, permitting officials, and local officials.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Development: leads assigned projects in addition to supporting more senior development team members in completing the following functions:
    • Land and Title: secure site control necessary for project, access, and interconnection. Assist in ordering, reviewing, and clearing titles
    • Permitting: identify applicable local, state, and federal permitting requirements and assist in the preparation and submission of permit applications while maintaining compliance
    • Public Relations and Outreach: assess project needs and work with project team to execute strategy for fostering external relationships with local officials, stakeholders and members of the community
    • Electrical Interconnection: research and interpret tariff rules regarding generator interconnection. Assist in the preparation and submission of interconnection applications and management of ongoing interconnection studies and financial exposure
    • Project Management: manage project budgeting, forecasting, invoicing and fiscal analysis including creating and presenting project scopes, schedules, and cost-effective budgets to support internal approval processes
    • Team coordination: interface with engineering, legal, finance, procurement, construction, energy marketing and executive team members to accurately define and mitigate project risks and provide concise updates on project status
    • Commercial Offtake: assist in tracking and bidding on applicable opportunities to deliver competitive results
  • All other duties as required

Work Experience & Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or other advanced degree a plus
  • Years of experience: 1-3 years of proven development experience in the renewable sector, preferably within Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
  • Must have strong organizational skills and be an articulate speaker with the willingness to continually improve presentation skills
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and management software to support project scheduling, budgeting and presentations; financial model experience preferred
  • Motivated to work in a small team within a fast-paced, remote enviornment
  • Ability to travel and possess a valid license to drive an automobile
  • Open to candidates with peace corps, veteran, or other public service experience

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must have ability to identify and distinguish colors

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree
