When you work as an Associate Scientist in the Mass Spec Bioanalysis Development group at KCAS, you get to further our mission by applying your knowledge in bioanalytical and scientific principles to support study execution and development activities with increasing independence. You will contribute to study activities from setup through data generation while continuing to build your ability to assess data integrity and troubleshoot with guidance.
Our Mass Spec Bioanalysis Development team uses LCMS (Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry) techniques to conduct sophisticated sample preparation to meet bioanalytical needs for drug discovery, preclinical, and clinical studies, including bioanalysis of drugs and metabolites, biomarkers, and active endogenous compounds in biological fluids and tissues. In this role, we will rely on you to:
- Execute assigned study activities including sample preparation (extractions, enrichments/affinity capture, digestions) and LCMS analysis with moderate supervision
- Support method development and qualification activities and begin contributing to optimization efforts
- Perform data processing and prepare data summaries for review by senior scientists
- Troubleshoot routine technical issues and escalate more complex challenges appropriately
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with study protocols, SOPs & regulatory requirements

To qualify specifically for this role, you will have:
- Bachelor’s or master’s in chemistry, Biochemistry or chemical/biochemical engineering, or related field with 1–3 years of experience with LC-MS/MS
- Hands-on experience with bioanalytical sample preparation and quantitative LC-MS/MS techniques
- Working knowledge of chromatographic principles and mass spectrometry
- Experience with small molecule analysis; exposure to proteins, peptides, or biomarkers is a plus
- Familiarity with laboratory documentation and working in a structured or regulated environment preferred
What We Do
