Currently, we are looking to add an Associate Scientist to our team in State College, Pennsylvania:
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist with diverse organic syntheses, purifications, & characterizations.
- Assist with new batch production of natural products, synthetic, and semi-synthetic products.
- Assist in optimization of lab procedures by identifying inconsistent steps to improve yields and optimize procedures.
- Characterize organic compounds using TLC, NMR, mass spec, IR, and UV methods.
- Support team initiatives to achieve deliverables, within budget and timeline.
- Maintain a well-documented notebook and accurately prepare and submit lab materials, including SOP revisions, new batch QC submissions, etc., to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain clean, organized lab spaces and adhere to all established lab safety protocols.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry/relevant field.
- Experience: 2 years (with Bachelor’s), None (with Master’s).
- Computer Skills: Proficiency with ChemDraw and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of organic reaction mechanisms and retrosynthetic analysis.
- Solid understanding of stoichiometry and proficiency with associated calculations.
- Experience with thin layer chromatography, column chromatography, recrystallization, and other purification methods.
- Availability to work on-site in State College, PA, Monday through Friday.
