When you work as an Associate Scientist in the BioPharma Sciences group at KCAS, you get to further our mission by learning and applying your knowledge in bioanalytical and scientific principles to support study execution and development activities under the guidance of senior scientists. You will begin building your foundation in assessing data integrity and troubleshooting with support.
Our BioPharma Sciences team uses ligand binding assay (LBA) platforms to conduct bioanalytical testing in support of drug discovery, preclinical, and clinical studies, including the quantification of proteins, biomarkers, and anti-drug antibodies in biological matrices using technologies such as ELISA, MSD, and other immunoassay-based methods.
In this role, we'll rely on you to:
- Contribute to the planning of all phases of assigned projects including, R&D, ensure adequate supplies, method validation, test procedure preparation, sample analysis, data calculation, interpretation & review, troubleshooting and report preparation
- Design basic experiments & evaluate outcome vs. current SOPs, protocols other relevant standards with assistance; recommend appropriate course of action as necessary
- Be proficient in using common immunoassay platforms (ELISA, MSD, Luminex, etc)
- Provide work instructions and guidance to more junior scientific staff in the conducting of assigned projects
- Process and summarize data and interact with clients and/or auditors as necessary
To qualify for this role, you will have:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Immunology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biology or related field, 2 years of experience in a regulated laboratory environment (GLP preferred) in large molecule immunoassay development/validation
- A minimum of 2 years working in an industry lab, CRO or Pharmaceutical setting (preferred) with GLP/GxP experience (a plus)
- Demonstrated lab experience utilizing biopharma analytical techniques (e.g. ligand binding assays including ELISA and ECL-based assays)
- Cell-based assays experience is a plus
- Maintain accurate experimental records in a GLP CFR21 Laboratory following SOPs
- Proficient at pipetting solutions and buffer preparation
- Skilled with Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN), Microsoft Excel, and Word to perform tasks
What We Do
