Your next role as a Miracle Maker 

Maravai LifeSciences is seeking a #MiracleMaker to join our Custom Development team as an Associate Scientist, Biochemistry. The Associate ScientistBiochemistry  supports assay development, reagent production, and laboratory operations within the biochemistry and analytical development function. This role is responsible for executing laboratory experiments, supporting cell culture–based workflows, and contributing to the development and scalability of critical reagents and assay products. The Associate Scientist works under general supervision to follow established protocols, document experimental results, and maintain compliance with quality and safety standards. This position also supports laboratory operations, including inventory management and equipment readiness, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support product development and customer-driven timelines. 

How you will make an impact: 

  • Execute laboratory experiments supporting assay development, optimization, and production of critical reagents and kit components. 
  • Perform cell culture–based workflows and related laboratory techniques in support of product development and manufacturing activities. 
  • Document experimental procedures and results in laboratory notebooks and technical records in accordance with quality and data integrity standards. 
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of technical documentation, including SOPs, development protocols, and batch records. 
  • Support laboratory operations, including inventory management, equipment maintenance coordination, and procurement of supplies. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality, and Commercial) to support product development, production readiness, and customer needs. 
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS), GLP/GMP/ISO standards, and laboratory safety requirements. 
  • Perform other functions and duties as required 

 The skills and experience that you will bring: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related life sciences discipline with 2+ years of relevant laboratory experience. 
  • Hands-on experience with cell culture systems and basic biologics workflows preferred. 
  • Proficiency in biochemical and molecular biology techniques, including ELISA, electrophoresis, and protein/DNA-based assays. 
  • Experience supporting assay development, product development, or manufacturing workflows in biotechnology or life sciences environments. 
  • Experience documenting work in laboratory notebooks; familiarity with GLP/GMP environments preferred. 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment. 
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
