About the Gyori Lab for Computational Biomedicine
The Gyori Lab for Computational Biomedicine at Northeastern University builds systems that accelerate scientific discovery by combining artificial intelligence with human expertise. The lab develops knowledge-grounded artificial intelligence (AI), text mining and knowledge assembly, mathematical and systems modeling, and causal analysis, and deploys its results as widely used open-source software and services. The lab’s work is supported by a portfolio of federal and foundation grants spanning biomedical knowledge integration, global health, and machine-assisted systems modeling. More information about the lab and its projects is available at https://gyorilab.github.io.
Job Summary
The Associate Research Scientist will work in a fully grant-funded position focused on advancing the goals and deliverables of the lab’s funded projects. Working within defined project objectives and timelines, the scientist will develop and implement computational methods and open-source scientific software in the areas of knowledge-grounded AI, systems modeling, natural language processing, and data harmonization. The scientist will also build domain-relevant applications to benchmark and showcase these methods, contribute to publications and presentations describing the work, and help guide graduate students and other junior team members.
Because the position is fully supported by project funding, its scope and continuation are tied to the objectives and duration of the associated grants. The position reports to Benjamin Gyori, Associate Professor, and is based in Boston, Massachusetts.
