About ZeroIgnition Technologies (HK) Co., Ltd.

ZeroIgnition Technologies (HK) Co., Ltd. (the Company) is a deep-tech enterprise engineering next-generation, integrated smart fire protection and gas detection monitoring solutions tailored specifically for semiconductor cleanrooms. By fusing deep expertise in cleanroom electrical infrastructure and piping design with intelligent monitoring, ZeroIgnition creates unified safety ecosystems that identify hazards at the earliest pre-incident stages.

The Company aims to dramatically lower cleanroom false alarm rates, shorten emergency response times, and provide equipment-level autonomous safety intervention for high-value manufacturing operations.

The Role

Associate Research Engineers will form the primary technical execution layer within our R&D facilities. Working closely under the direction of Senior Research Engineers, you will be responsible for conducting hands-on "bench work" testing, running simulation experiments, operating testing rigs, and conducting rigorous quantitative data analysis to validate and optimise our next-generation cleanroom safety technologies in the following focus areas: thermal imaging, gas analysis, particulate analysis and chemical analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Benchwork & Lab Execution: Execute day-to-day experimental procedures, bench testing, and laboratory hardware runs involving cleanroom sensors, electrical systems, and gas detection devices.

  • Data Collection & Processing: Capture, clean, and process high-frequency empirical data generated from experimental simulation runs and hardware stress tests.

  • Data Analysis & Modelling Support: Perform quantitative data analysis to evaluate and optimise system response times, false alarm frequencies, and baseline algorithm performance for integration into our AI data centre.

  • Testing Rig Setup & Maintenance: Prepare, calibrate, and maintain experimental hardware setups, sensor networks, and test instruments in the Cleanroom Simulation Laboratory.

  • Technical Documentation: Maintain detailed research logbooks, record experimental anomalies, and prepare structured lab reports and data summaries for Senior Research Engineers.

Candidate Requirements
  • Educational Qualification (Mandatory): Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Chemical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Materials Science, Data Science, or a related discipline.

  • Experience Level (Mandatory): 3 to 5 years of mid-level hands-on research or engineering experience in an industrial R&D laboratory, high-tech manufacturing, or testing facility.

  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with tools and instrumentation related to thermal sensors/cameras, gas detectors/spectrometers, particle counters, or chemical analysis equipment.

  • Analytical Tools: Proficiency in statistical analysis tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB, R, or similar analytical languages/frameworks).

  • Collaborative Execution: Ability to rigorously follow research protocols, work independently at the bench, and take direction from senior research leads.

  • Language Proficiency: Professional working proficiency in written and spoken English; fluency in Cantonese or Mandarin is advantageous for daily lab operations.

  • Location: Based in or willing to relocate to Hong Kong to work on-site in our laboratory facilities.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Annual Base Salary: $65,000 USD per annum.

  • Benefits Package: Full health insurance coverage, statutory MPF contributions, paid annual leave, and professional lab training.

  • Career Growth: Direct hands-on exposure to cutting-edge semiconductor infrastructure R&D with pathways toward technical specialisation.
