About Position / Position Summary

  • This position is for an Informatica developer. The selected individual will work in the Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center (BIETC) in Bangalore India. As a Software Engineer, the selected individual will work with the Boeing Aviall team to develop, maintain and improve the existing Application landscape and Informatica Modules.

This role will be based out of Bengaluru, India.

Position Responsibilities:

  • The selected individual will work in the Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center (BIETC) in Bangalore India. As a Software Engineer, the selected individual will work with the Boeing Aviall team to develop, maintain and improve the existing Application landscape and Informatica Modules.
  • Work in an Agile Scrum team following the best practices on Software Craftsmanship such as Test-driven development and Pair Programming/Peer Reviews.
  • Work in close cooperation - actively aligns the technical roadmap with similar teams based in USA.
  • Understanding user requirements and translating those requirements into well designed solutions.
  • Create complex Informatica mappings in Power Center using Windows / Unix and Data warehousing knowledgebase to meet the needs.
  • Involve in Unit and Integration testing, validating test cases, Performance tuning techniques.
  • Work on Identifying and resolving various major production fixes and provide innovative solutions to meet the needs of the business.
  • Create and maintain necessary software design and architecture documentation. Keep track of and actively reduce technical debt.
  • The selected individual will be a skilled, highly professional engineer, work collaboratively with an international team comprising software development, product management, and business analysis and play a role in ensuring Aviall ecommerce products more competitive in the market.
  • Mentors junior team members on technical aspects. The selected individual will also be responsible to provide support to development of internal competency and resources for critical skill sets and be a sought-after expert that other developers can benefit from.
  • This position will support initiatives of Boeing India organization related to engineering excellence, employee development, mentoring, customer engagement etc.
  • Research and recommend new technologies to improve the product development activities.
  • Travel domestically and internationally, as required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • In depth knowledge of Informatica 10.x Power Center and above, Unix / Windows, SQL and Data warehousing.
  • Strong hands-on experience in Informatica Cloud services (ICS) & Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS) and proficient on the following areas –
  • Monitoring & Administration
  • API Manager & API Portal
  • Application Integration & Application Integration Console
  • Data Integration
  • Strong understanding of ETL, data structures and data flow. Experience with different data sources Oracle, SQL server, Flat files, etc.
  • Knowledge in Web services & API Integration, Informatica Integration Service.
  • Knowledge on Informatica domain along with Cloud integration.
  • Strong in communication skills.
  • Knowledge management activities including project documentation, technical design documents, High Level Design documents, Detailed Level Design documents, User Manuals and other technical documentation.
  • Trustworthy technical skills with a proven track-record of working successfully in various projects.
  • Ability to make solutions-oriented, creative and innovative contributions in highly demanding situations.
  • Strong believer of Agile Methodology and DevOps ideology.
  • Must have experience working with cross-functional teams spread across multiple products and locations within Boeing and external partners, across different cultures and time-zones.
  • Experience in using the following Software application is preferred but not required:
    • JIRA
    • SAP Hybris
    • SAP ERP
    • Dynatrace & AppDynamics
    • Akamai
  • Collaborate effectively with a team of development engineers, QA/Testing, Build, and Project Management.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Mathematics, or Engineering is required and a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Candidates with Aviation related application development background will be preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in software/Informatica/IICS development.
  • Certification in Informatica, Informatica Cloud Services, Database (Oracle) would prefer.

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5+ Plus years' related work experience or master’s degree with 3+ years of experience with

 an equivalent combination of education and experience
