Job Overview:
The Operations team is responsible for partnering with clients to deliver scalable, holistic, and controlled services. The team ensures the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of all operational processes and creates synergy and alignment with external stakeholders (clients, suppliers) and internal departments. The department identifies improvements aimed to enhancing the quality of the clearing operations service and participates in the implementation of the selected solution.
The Processing sub team of the Operations Department is the face of AAC-USA's technology. This team is focused on automation and digitalization and has deep knowledge of our products, systems and processes. The Associate, Processing Officer ensures a robust and predictable process is monitored; manages and owns exception handling; and resolves errors to improve client service.
We are looking to hire several Associate, Processing Officers across Equity Operations and Futures Operations. Placement will be determined during the interview process.
These positions are based in our Chicago office and require a min of 3 days per week onsite in office.
Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily processes and services with respect to all trade functions for Futures, Equities and Options. Including Corporate Actions, Physical Deliveries, Expiry of Options, Transfers of Account, and/or work affecting business operations to a substantial degree
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion to identify automation opportunities, process improvement and new business initiatives to increase efficiency and improve bottom line results
  • Make recommendations to and consult with the Operations Business Analysts, senior management and appropriate stakeholders to implement same
  • Act independently, prioritize and validate daily workload to ensure timely and accurate trade capture and position management
  • Problem solve and take ownership of issue resolution and subsequent root cause analysis when daily processing is impacted or when there is a failure of automated processes
  • Manage operational risk related to client instructions and exchange obligations, exercising discretion in resolving related issues and escalating concerns timely and appropriately
  • Exhibit strong affinity with IT and process management, often partnering with technology to support critical run the bank (RTB) functions that affect business operations to a substantial degree and implement the strategic change agenda
  • Exercise judgement and demonstrate a sense of urgency to complete tasks in anticipation of exchange and regulatory deadlines
  • Apply a conservative risk approach and exhibit an awareness of the operational risk framework
  • Understand the local and global regulatory environments and partner with Compliance to monitor, respond and adhere to compliance rules and regulations with respect to all RTB processes


Qualifications

  • 3+ years' experience and knowledge with the processing of equity, options and/or futures clearing
  • FINRA Series 99 (or ability to obtain within 90 days of start date) required
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field
  • Demonstrate strong confidence in abilities and knowledge of products
  • Ability to work within tight timelines
  • Self-starter with strong desire to make processes more efficient
  • Intellectually curious and understand what drives revenue, risk and implements a plan to streamline existing processes
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent customer service, written and verbal communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment along with leading by example
  • Strong work ethic and emphasis on attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience working with multiple teams across different time zones
  • Willingness to work a rotating schedule based on market conditions to support business need
  • Ability to work hybrid with a min 3 days a week onsite in office


Recommended License(s):

  • Industry licenses such as Security Industry Essentials (SIE) or Series 7 recommended for these roles
