Role Summary
Global X ETFs is seeking a highly motivated professional to join the Quantitative & Fixed Income Investment (QFI) Team. This is a buy-side ETF portfolio management role; the PM Associate will work alongside senior Portfolio Managers and Traders in the day-to-day management of a growing suite of ETFs spanning equities, fixed income, and derivatives in both index-based and actively managed strategies. The role operates in a trading-desk environment and combines continuous intraday portfolio monitoring and implementation with the development of reporting, analytics, and automation. The PM Associate will regularly collaborate with Trading & Capital Markets, Portfolio Administration, Risk, Compliance, Technology, and Product Development.
The PM Associate is expected to manage concurrent market-driven priorities, exercise judgment under time constraints, and communicate and escalate issues promptly. The ideal candidate is self-directed, takes ownership of recurring responsibilities through to completion, and brings a strong foundation in portfolio management or trading, ideally within the ETF ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Support the ETF portfolio management and investment process across a suite of funds with distinct investment objectives, including:
Monitor positions, cash, fund flows, exposures, performance, and scheduled events throughout the trading day
Prepare trade recommendations across equities, fixed income, and derivatives, including futures, swaps, and listed and FLEX options, in support of portfolio rebalances, creation/redemption activity, and cash management
Investigate portfolio and operational exceptions, communicate findings, and escalate issues to the team in a timely manner
Build, maintain, and enhance the reporting, analytics, and operational infrastructure used to manage the funds, using Excel, Python, SQL, and AI-enabled automation
Support new product and fund enhancement initiatives by evaluating portfolio implementation, operational, structural, and governance considerations
Qualifications
2-5 years of professional experience in a time-sensitive investment, trading, or operational environment, ideally in portfolio management or trading within the ETF ecosystem
A track record of owning recurring processes with daily or intraday deadlines and following them through to completion
Advanced Excel skills and demonstrated working proficiency with Python or SQL; experience using AI tools for research, analysis, and workflow automation a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and concise, effective communication
Experience with Bloomberg and OMS/EMS platforms such as AIM, EMSX, Aladdin, or Charles River a plus
Bachelor’s degree required; CFA charterholder or progress toward CFA designation a plus
Compensation Range: $135,000-145,000 plus annual bonus
