Adams Street Partners is seeking a Senior Associate – Tax to join the Client Operations Team. Adams Street currently utilizes external providers to assist with tax compliance, planning, and structuring. This role will report to the Director of Tax and will drive efficient coordination with external service providers and manage multiple components of the tax compliance process for internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the overall Federal, Non-U.S. and State tax compliance process including coordination with outside public accounting firm responsible for preparing returns and tracking / collecting data to be used in the process
- Coordinate with Legal and Investor Relations to understand tax reporting needs for new funds and investors, and deliver tax reporting to investors via secure investor portal
- Coordinate with Legal and investment teams to document tax treatment and tax implications of investments made across strategies to ensure appropriate reporting
- Develop internal tax estimate process for employee funds to ensure appropriate data is provided to internal stakeholders on a regular basis
- Coordinate tax distribution process including relevant calculations, tracking and projections
- Manage correspondence and inquiries from tax authorities and coordinate responses as needed
- Respond to internal and external tax inquiries including investor requests and tax related due diligence questions
- Maintain schedule to track partnership tax withholding payments and collection from relevant investors
- Preparation and review of select tax provision workpapers
- Various other tax projects as determined by tax legislative changes and growth of the business
- Assist Investment Accounting with certain tasks relating to quarterly reporting
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline
- 3-5 years of experience in tax at a public accounting firm with a preferred focus on private equity funds, private credit funds, and/or regulated investment companies
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Detail oriented self-starter with the ability to work alone and in a team environment
- Strong work ethic and strong interpersonal and communication skills
