Role Overview 

IEQ Capital is seeking a New Business Associate to support advisors and senior members of the Business Development team in driving organic growth by  delivering high-quality investment analysis and prospect-related materials. This role is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and prospect-facing, offering significant exposure to alternative investments, tax strategies, portfolio construction, and prospect engagement. 

The New Business Associate will work closely with senior team members and Partners on portfolio analysis, investment proposals, RFPs, prospect communications, and pipeline management. This is an ideal role for a motivated, intellectually curious candidate looking to build a long-term career in wealth management, alternatives, tax strategy, and business development. 

Key Responsibilities 

Business Development & Prospect Support 

  • Support the end-to-end prospecting process, including pipeline management, proactive outreach support, and preparation for prospect meetings.
  • Assist in drafting and responding to RFPs for individuals, family offices, and institutional prospects.
  • Help prepare senior team members for prospect meetings through background research, material preparation, and follow-up coordination.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date prospect data across internal systems and CRM tools as needed. 

Investment Analysis & Proposal Development 

  • Assist in creating bespoke investment proposals tailored to prospect objectives, risk tolerance, liquidity needs, and tax considerations.
  • Conduct portfolio analysis and support recommendations across public and private investments, with a focus on alternative asset strategies.
  • Support analysis of tax-conscious strategies, including concentrated stock solutions and enhanced tax-loss harvesting tools.
  • Help prepare investment commentary and written summaries to accompany proposals and presentations. 

Client-Facing Materials & Communication 

  • Draft clear, professional communications to prospects and intermediaries, including follow-up emails, investment summaries, and analysis commentary.
  • Assist in building and formatting high-quality presentations and pitch materials using PowerPoint.
  • Support the preparation of materials used in prospect meetings and investment pitches. 

Organizational & Operational Support 

  • Maintain organization across a high-volume prospect pipeline, ensuring timely follow-ups and consistent execution.
  • Support internal coordination across teams involved in prospecting, research, and client onboarding.
  • Assist with ad hoc analytical and administrative projects as needed to support the business development function. 
Qualifications Required 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in investing, particularly in alternative assets.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical capabilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of professionalism and comfort working with senior professionals and sophisticated clients. 
Preferred 
  • Prior experience in finance, investments, consulting, wealth management, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with alternative investment strategies such as private equity, venture capital, real estate, private credit, or secondaries.
  • Experience with platforms such as Addepar, iCapital, PowderFi, Fidelity, or Schwab.
  • Demonstrated interest in business development or client-facing roles.

Compensation

The salary range for this role, inclusive of base and bonus, is $90,000 - $115,000, depending on skills and experience.
