About the Role
This position is within HARMAN’s GSSC India Division, Finance Organization. Data governance is the formal orchestration of people, process, and technology to enable the organization to leverage data as an enterprise asset; Finance Master Data Management at Harman is a dual role of compliance and enabling business analysis. The Master Data Organization will lead the data steward population to interpret data policies with the goal of establishing clarity and quality in policy enforcement. The Master Data Organization will work with cross functional leaders to establish Master Data Lifecycles to enable high quality analysis, optimizing current data use and archiving legacy structures
What You Will Do
This team member, will have global responsibility to ensure adherence on business alignment and process standardization; supported through frequent regional and divisional interaction with Corporate and business finance colleagues to deliver on accounting and reporting requirements.
The Candidate must lead by example with a ‘get it done attitude’ setting, and with excellent communication skills. Responsibilities include the following:
- Very Good Understanding of the Master Data Management process.
- Master Data Requests /Creation/Change and Archival process
- Cleansing of old master data objects that require archival
- Knowledge of SAP
- Ability to train and re-train on the tools and reports used in Master Data Management process
- Think in the lines of a Business Analyst to drive the projects with minimal support from the Management
- Work to be prepared and managed on a regular basis
Master Data Management:
- Understanding the process of Master Data in SAP
- Master Data Management Reports for compliance to be prepared and published on a Periodical basis.
- Operationalize governance processes for creation/change of data, defining business rules, to implement and improve data standards, quality, integrity, and consistency
- Responsible for day-to-day oversight of the activities across functional and technical development and maintenance of MDG hub and integration technologies for supporting data ingestion, transformations and loading data into the MDG
- Constant monitoring of master data against the currently used data in various business processes to identify the gaps, discrepancies, and the opportunities to further improve quality of master data.
- Ensuring consistent, standardized, and accurate master data within the ERP and bolt on applications that are dependent on that data
- Perform technical design and development activities for automation
- Perform daily activities involving finance master data management process, such as the creation and maintenance of master and reference data, to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Creates and maintains custom automation reporting to aid accounting teams
- Support for any Adhoc queries from the other teams basis and provide them on time
- Suggest process improvement initiatives
- Respond to audit compliance requirement and collating the information as required.
What You Need to Be Successful
- Experience with SAP Master Data Governance for financial data.
- Quality compliance and investigation skills
- Finance and Accounting skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience, preferably a CA / CWA Inter
- 5 years of experience in Finance, Business, or a similar role.
- Experience working with SAP as an End-user
- Experience working in cross-functional teams
- Understanding the link between Digital core systems/Quality Systems and the various functional department business processes
- High communication skills in English
- Advanced Knowledge of Excel/Powerpoint/Visio required.
- Good understanding of Chart of accounts, cost objects
- Willingness to work in EU time zone and accept & delivery deliverable in a stringent timelines
- Ability to communicate clearly in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to effectively work across functional boundaries to bring tasks to successful conclusion
- Capable of handling multiples projects / initiatives simultaneously and executing to completion
- Ability to work effectively within a matrix environment
