Position Summary
The Associate Manager, Production Operations (Database Operator Supervisor) leads a team of Database Operators and oversees the delivery of high-quality healthcare reference data production services. The role is responsible for operational leadership, workforce planning, quality governance, stakeholder management, process optimization, and offshore production coordination.
This position serves as the primary operational point of contact for production activities and plays a key role in driving automation, operational excellence, and scalable delivery models across the Japan business.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations Leadership
- Lead day-to-day production activities to ensure timely delivery of all assigned services.
- Establish and maintain production schedules, priorities, and workloads.
- Monitor service delivery performance and operational KPIs.
- Proactively manage production risks and escalation events.
- Ensure compliance with established operating procedures and quality standards.
People Leadership
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of Database Operators.
- Conduct performance management, feedback, and capability development activities.
- Manage workforce planning, resource allocation, and capacity forecasting.
- Coordinate training and onboarding activities for new team members.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Quality & Data Governance
- Ensure production outputs meet accuracy, completeness, and timeliness standards.
- Perform regular quality reviews and implement corrective actions.
- Analyze quality trends and establish preventive measures.
- Support audit readiness and compliance requirements.
- Maintain governance over critical healthcare reference data assets.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify and implement process improvements that increase quality and productivity.

- Support offshore production hubs and shared services teams.
- Ensure SLA commitments, productivity standards, and quality targets are achieved.
Customer Service & Stakeholder Support
- Serve as a primary point of contact for production-related inquiries, escalations, and service requests.
- Partner with client-facing and internal stakeholders to support business requirements and service excellence.
Required Qualifications Education
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
Experience
- 3–5+ years of experience in database operations, production operations, data management, healthcare information services, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of leadership, supervisory, project leadership, or team coordination experience preferred.
- Experience managing operational KPIs, SLAs, and quality metrics.
