Job Description
• Minimum of 10+ years in supporting Oracle databases in clustered (RAC) environments.
• Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in troubleshooting and supporting databases in Oracle Linux, Oracle RAC, and Oracle ASM configuration
• Experience working with Exadata system is preferable but not mandatory.
• Monitor Oracle DATABASE, check alerts and take care of DATABASE issues (issue resolution)
• Have experience in database monitoring using Oracle Enterprise Manager(OEM) - Agent installation, DATABASE discovery, Database alert configuration.
• Setup various default and customized metrics in cloud control – preferable.
• Should have good System admin, networking, and storage knowledge.
• Should be able to work with Oracle on all hardware issues and facilitate fixing the same.
• Performance tuning as needed to ensure DATABASE is up and running healthy
• Experience in Oracle RMAN backup automation using shell script, backup monitoring, backup tuning, and different types of RMAN Database recovery procedures
• Database problem troubleshooting tasks ( using AWR report, ASH report, ADDM report, Various Oracle Advisory framework)
• Experience in Oracle database Disaster Recovery(DR) setup and management using Oracle Data Guard and Oracle Golden Gate.
• Well versed with different Oracle database migration methodologies including data pump export/import and cross platform migration etc.
• Critical Database Migration on Production systems using DR setup/Pre-cutover/Cutover and EXPDP-IMPDP.
• Experience in database home installation, Database upgrade, patching, and regular maintenance of databases in RAC environments.
• Experience in Linux server patching procedures.
• Provide on call rotation DATABASE support, identifying and resolving DATABASE issues, problem troubleshooting, root cause analysis, opening ticket with oracle.
• Experience in various database refresh procedures - Database cloning and Data pump export/import
• Good understating on database change management procedure including drafting change request, technical review, approval, and change implementation in change maintenance window
Additional Requirements:
• Should be flexible to work in 24X7 shift operations
• Capable of handling escalation independently
• Oracle certified administrator - preferable.
• Industry certification in at least one of the cloud technologies ( optional ).
• ITIL processes – Incident Management, Change Management & Problem Management
