About The Role & Team

Webull is seeking a business-minded, solutions-oriented Associate Counsel to join our growing legal team to support our broker-dealer and advisory business lines. This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney who enjoys partnering closely with the business, solving complex problems, and taking ownership of meaningful legal work in a fast-paced fintech environment as we strive to build a world-class legal function.

The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, commercially minded, and comfortable exercising sound judgment in a dynamic environment. Success in this role requires a balance of strong legal expertise, practical business judgment, excellent communication skills, and a proactive, collaborative approach.

If you're looking for an opportunity to do more than review contracts—where you'll influence business strategy, work alongside talented cross-functional teams, and make a meaningful impact in a growing fintech company—we'd love to hear from you.

In This Role, You Will

  • Commercial Contracting
    • Lead the drafting, review, negotiation, and execution of a wide variety of commercial agreements, including SaaS, technology, vendor, marketing, consulting, data licensing, and other strategic business contracts. Partner with business stakeholders to structure transactions, evaluate contractual risk, and develop practical solutions that advance business objectives.
    • Develop and maintain contract templates, negotiation playbooks, knowledge resources, and internal processes that improve consistency and efficiency.
  • Business Partnership & Legal Advisory
    • Serve as a trusted legal advisor to business teams by providing practical, business-focused guidance on commercial, operational, product, and regulatory matters.
    • Translate complex legal concepts into clear, actionable advice that enables informed business decisions. Identify legal issues early, influence decision-making, and develop creative, scalable risk-balanced solutions that enable innovation and execution while protecting the company.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Support
    • Advise on legal and regulatory issues impacting broker-dealer operations and financial services activities. Collaborate closely with Compliance, Risk, and business stakeholders to address evolving regulatory requirements and support strategic initiatives.
    • Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting the business and provide practical recommendations for implementation.

The Skills You Bring

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
  • Approximately 3-7 years of experience at a leading law firm, in-house legal department, or a combination of both.
  • Demonstrated experience drafting, negotiating, and advising on a broad range of commercial agreements, particularly technology, SaaS, software, vendor, and services agreements.
  • Excellent judgment and the ability to issue-spot provide practical, business-oriented advice in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with both legal and non-legal stakeholders.
  • Adaptability in a fast-moving environment.  Proven ability to independently manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of responsiveness and attention to detail.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience supporting broker-dealers, fintech companies, financial institutions, digital asset businesses, or other highly regulated organizations.
  • Familiarity with advertising, marketing, consumer protection, or financial services regulations.
  • Experience working directly with product, engineering, or technology teams and building trusted relationships with business teams.
