Job Description:

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Associate to join the Singapore Investment Portfolio team. As a member of the team, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing fixed income investment opportunities across global markets.


Working closely with the Desk Head and portfolio managers across Singapore, London, and Toronto, you will contribute to portfolio construction, trade idea generation, relative value analysis, trade execution, and ongoing risk management. The role offers exposure to a diverse range of fixed income products and hedging strategies.


Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Management & Investment Activities

  • Identify and evaluate relative value opportunities across investment-grade fixed income markets.
  • Generate investment ideas through fundamental, quantitative, and market-based analysis.
  • Execute bond, interest rate derivative, foreign exchange, and cross-currency hedging transactions.
  • Monitor market developments, economic data, central bank policy, and credit fundamentals to assess portfolio implications.
  • Support portfolio managers in Singapore and overseas with execution, analysis, and portfolio-related initiatives.
  • Maintain active coverage of primary and secondary bond markets.
  • Monitor liquidity conditions, market technicals, and valuation dynamics across fixed income sectors.

Portfolio Operations & Desk Management

  • Perform daily P&L calculation, attribution, and portfolio monitoring.
  • Manage day-to-day funding requirements of the investment portfolio.
  • Support trade capture, booking, and verification activities.
  • Liaise with operations, middle office, treasury, finance, and counterparties to resolve settlement and operational issues.
  • Assist in maintaining robust controls, documentation, and operational processes.

Your Profile

Experience & Background

  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in financial markets. Candidates with more years of experience may be considered for a more senior position.
  • Experience may have been gained in treasury, market risk, credit analysis, credit trading, fixed income sales and trading, syndication/origination, asset management, portfolio management, or related fixed income market roles.
  • Experience in APAC credit markets is an advantage, but not necessary.

Technical & Market Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of fixed income markets and bond valuation concepts.
  • Working knowledge of interest rate swaps and FX products.
  • Knowledge of cross-currency basis swaps, CDS, and other credit derivatives would be advantageous.
  • Understanding of global macroeconomic themes and financial market linkages.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg and other market data platforms is beneficial.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities.
  • Advanced Excel skills; VBA and automation experience are highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and solve problems.
  • Self-motivated, independent, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
