The Role

About this role

Your team

BlackRock’s Global Corporate Communications team brings to life how we help more people invest better so they can live better. We connect our people, platform, and strategy through clear, consistent storytelling that strengthens trust, deepens relationships, and supports growth across the firm.

As a global, highly integrated team, we partner across the business to deliver communications that reflect the full breadth of BlackRock’s capabilities—from public and private markets to technology and whole portfolio solutions—while reinforcing our culture and our role as a fiduciary.

Role Overview

We are seeking an Associate to join the Global Internal Communications team, with a clear mandate to help advance the team’s digital evolution and strengthen how employees access, consume, and engage with information across the firm.

This is a high-impact role for a digitally fluent communicator and operator who is equally comfortable shaping content, managing platforms, interpreting data, and improving workflows. The role sits at the intersection of storytelling, digital channels, analytics, and execution—and will help the team build a more modern internal communications experience that supports strategic storytelling and content generation, personalization, discoverability, and continuous employee feedback.

The ideal candidate brings strong foundational experience and sound judgment, and is ready to take ownership of day-to-day internal communications channel and platform operations while contributing to longer-term improvements in how internal communications are delivered at scale. They operate effectively in ambiguity, bring a bias for action and attention to detail, and are motivated to learn, test new ideas, and help the team adopt smarter tools and processes, including AI-enabled capabilities where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and evolve BlackRock’s global internal digital communications ecosystem, including the firm’s flagship publication/s, intranet, digital signage, mobile apps, and more -- helping improve the employee communication experience through stronger content management, tools, workflows, governance standards, and measurement.
  • Manage day-to-day publishing and editorial execution across internal digital platforms, ensuring content is accurate, timely, consistent in voice, and aligned with firm and brand standards.
  • Help improve content discoverability and usability across internal platforms by supporting tagging, page structure, navigation, and related content practices, in partnership with stakeholders across HR, Technology, Marketing, and the business.
  • Contribute to more personalized and audience-relevant communications by supporting segmentation, targeting, and channel optimization efforts across employee audiences.
  • Use employee engagement data and content performance insights to inform editorial decisions, channel strategy, and ongoing improvements to employee communications.
  • Support the execution of integrated internal communication campaigns tied to firm priorities, including AI adoption, culture, talent, and key business moments.
  • Identify and help pilot new ways of working—leveraging AI, automation, and digital tools—to improve internal communications across content creation, distribution, and measurement.
  • Stay current on emerging tools, platforms, and best practices, bringing a continuous improvement mindset to how we deliver communications and helping the team adopt new capabilities thoughtfully and responsibly.

Success in this role will look like

  • Internal digital channels are well-managed, reliable, and increasingly easier for employees to navigate.
  • Communications are informed by performance data and employee feedback, not just publishing cadence.
  • Content is more strategically aligned to firm priorities, better organized, easier to find, and more reusable across the internal ecosystem.
  • The team is testing and adopting smarter workflows, including AI-enabled tools, in ways that improve quality, speed, and consistency.
  • Stakeholders view Internal Communications as a strong partner in improving how employees receive and act on information.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field with a strong digital or technology focus.
  • 2–4 years of professional experience in internal communications, corporate communications, digital workplace, technical project management or a related role.
  • Experience project managing and working with digital content management systems (e.g., Microsoft 365), design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva), email distribution platforms, related tools.
  • Experience supporting reporting and analytics efforts, including the ability to build or maintain dashboards and translate performance data into actionable insights, such as through Power BI.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Comfort learning new technologies and applying digital tools, including AI-enabled tools, responsibly and effectively in day-to-day work.

Preferred

  • Experience in financial services, asset management, or another regulated industry.
  • Exposure to analytics and measurement frameworks for internal communications.
  • Familiarity with information architecture, taxonomy, search optimization, or content governance practices in digital environments.
  • Experience using employee feedback, behavioral data, or platform insights to improve content or digital experiences.
  • Interest in emerging technologies, including AI tools that enhance content creation and distribution workflows

What We Do

As the world’s largest asset manager, BlackRock partners with investors around the globe to help them (and those on whose behalf they invest) plan for life’s most important goals – like retirement, home ownership and their children’s education. Our clients range from governments, foundations and other large institutions to those investing on behalf of individuals, including firefighters, nurses, teachers and factory workers. BlackRock was founded with the idea of creating a better asset management firm — one that was purpose-driven, focused on clients and risk management, and propelled by data and technology. Our breakthrough Aladdin® platform is BlackRock’s technological backbone, helping investors see and manage their whole portfolios in one place – from constructing investments to monitoring risk and executing trades. Used by hundreds of external institutions around the world, Aladdin combines powerful analytics and a common language to help investment teams make faster, more informed decisions across public and private markets. It’s a key part of our business and one of the reasons we’re trusted to manage more assets than any other investment manager today. At BlackRock, we challenge conventions and raise the bar for what’s possible. We harness technology to unlock new solutions, simplify complexity, and deliver investment strategies that meet people where they are. Whether it’s retirement planning, wealth building or navigating market shifts, we’re here to help clients invest more easily, more affordably and with more choice as we chart a path toward financial well-being together.
