Datavant’s Legal team is looking for an Associate General Counsel who is passionate about the healthcare technology space and improving patient care.  

You will:

• Legal counsel over employment and regulatory matters relevant to the healthcare technology space reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer
• Responsible for a broad range of transactional legal matters across Datavant 
• Serve as a strategic business partner to senior leaders in matters material to Datavant’s business, including risk assessment, data rights, product development and compliance related matters.
• Provide strategic advice to product and commercial teams on product development and vendor partnerships.
• Partner with compliance to provide legal advice on healthcare regulatory issues.
• Provide legal counsel to the executive team and the Board of Directors, including drafting and revising corporate policies, bylaws, minutes, agendas, and resolutions.
• Manage, develop, and mentor the legal team.
• Oversee M&A and strategic corporate initiatives.
• Advise management and staff on legal issues related to programmatic initiatives.
• Establish and manage relationships with outside counsel.

What you will bring to the table: 

• 10+ years of experience in the corporate legal space with at least 2 years of in-house experience.
• JD from an accredited law school
• Experience or interest in any healthcare data domain
• A deep understanding of how our partners are using data to achieve strategic objectives through a variety of engagement techniques (e.g. quarterly business reviews). Innovate ideas on how to support our partners in achieving success as they would define it.
• A proven capability in forming trusted relationships at strategic accounts.
• An ability to apply strong listening and research skills to understand the strategic growth drivers across a portfolio of high-potential partner businesses
• A commitment to practicing empathy for our partners at all times. 
• Ability to travel as needed

The range posted is for a given job title, which can include multiple levels. Individual rates for the same job title may differ based on their level, responsibilities, skills, and experience for a specific job. The estimated salary range for this role is $275,000-$300,0000.
