The Position
Responsible for the implementation of manufacturing support processes, instrumentation and equipment for offices, labs and manufacturing. At the direction of the Supervisor and more Sr. Engineers, provide support in facilities such processing, engineering, design, project coordination, start-up and validation of GMP and non-GMP utilities and facilities areas and systems. Ensures all work and documentation are in accordance with cGMP, NNUSBPI, and corporate guidelines.
Essential Functions

  • Provides support to a designated manufacturing operations area including the following activities
  • Equipment and system troubleshooting to support deviations, corrective actions and related manufacturing impact or quality issues
  • Tracking and evaluating process trends or issues in collaboration with quality, mfg. sciences and manufacturing
  • Assists in procurement, installation, engineering start up and validation activities related to systems and equipment
  • Participates in the implementation of procedural improvement changes
  • Back up point of contact for solvent, waste and emission control and related cost optimizations/efficiencies
  • Execution of engineering runs to test equipment or to troubleshoot problems
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Performs all job duties and responsibilities in a compliant and ethical manner and in accordance with all applicable healthcare laws, regulations and industry codes
  • Incorporates the Novo Nordisk Way and 10 Essentials in all activities and interactions with others


Physical Requirements
0-10% overnight travel required; Standing, reaching, bending, lifting. The ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, and walk. The ability to push, pull, lift, finger, feel, and grasp. The ability to speak, listen, and understand verbal and written communication. Repetition including substantial movement of wrists, hands, and or fingers. Lifting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or constantly to move objects. Visual acuity to perform close activities such as: reading, writing, and analyzing; and to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations. The working environment includes a variety of physical conditions including: noise, vibration, inside and outside conditions including temperature changes, extreme cold, and extreme heat; proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. The working environment frequently includes close quarters and narrow aisles or passageways. Local and international travel: 0-5%.
Qualifications

  • Education and Certifications:
    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering or related discipline
  • Work Experience:
    • Two (2) years related experience with an Associates or a one (1) year related experience with a Bachelor's degree
    • Pharmaceutical process or biotechnology experience preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Receives instructions on routine work and new assignments
    • Knowledge of GMPs is preferred, but not required as these can be learned on the job
    • Basic knowledge and understanding of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's) and facility drawings desirable
    • Must have excellent communication skills and ability to work in a high-paced team-oriented environment
